Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices are medical devices used in the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA). These work by maintaining an open airway, delivering air pressure to the upper airways via a mask.

There are two main types of PAP machines – fixed or Constant pressure (CPAP), and Automatic (APAP).

Although any of these can be used to treat OSA, they each vary in their features and functions. A brief description of the CPAP types can be found under their respective headings.

Please note that ResMed require that your device be delivered to your nearest SleepGP Clinic for you to pick up. This will ensure that our Sleep Nurse individually prepares your device with your customised settings. If you are not within 100km of your nearest SleepGP clinic, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
